THE DAY AFTER: An honest review of the Springboks' loss to Ireland in Durban
What does Akker ( Warthog!) Have to do to get a sniff at the number 2 Green jersey!!!?
No please not Elrich Louw. Looks like Rassie likes Bulls players.Glasgow played them off the park. Wiese and Roos have no comparison.they will eventually come through. First injury he is back.!
I can't see experimentation during the Championship, Rassie wants to win this tournament, can't win it if we loose in Aus, must win both!! If it's won by the time we play Argentina, yes perhaps "others" will be given a chance!!
Good luck. But Fok. What happened to BB in last 24 months. ? I was living in Fiji. And loved the 2 horse race for 5 yrs between Fiji and BB. It’s like they just in freefall.
Is Kwagga chosen as he is fitter and can last the whole game🤷🏽♂️. I do think there is a possibility of using a prop / hooker / for the whole game, maybe switching positions and / or to 6. This will allow 2 locks & 2 loose forwards on the bench for 6/2.
The loose forward combination failed in Ireland II and Roos or Louw would’ve offered more driving and tackling. Are choices made by the DSTV reality show 🤷🏽♂️
they're looking in the wrong places, or at the wrong people.
"play like we did today" ... that's how they've played under your watch so far Philip, which is why we had to qualify via the last chance tournament. Liked Philip as a player, but he's a kak coach. Watching great 7s players run around yesterday not knowing what their teammate was going to do next told me everything. With the time these guys spend together, and the resources at their disposal, they should know exactly what they're doing on the field, and what their teammate is going to do next just by being familiar with their body language. Same players that were dominating the 7s under Powell are now looking like beginners under Snyman. Time for a change at the top.
Top 2 3rd placed teams go through to qtrs. USA, SA, Or Samoa. USA is all but through, virtually guaranteed, it's us or Samoa, for which we are currently leading at -17 to -23 PDs. All depends on our Japan performance and their Kenyan one.
Great video, Brenden. I was a massive Sbu Nkosi fan, but he has boycotted his career time and time again. It's a shame, as he is such a talented player. Frans Steyn gave him a lifeline and now he has burnt that bridge as well. I wish him the best and hope that he can overcome his demons. As for Dyantyi, he really tried hard at the Sharks, but I'm afraid the game has evolved beyond his skills. Wingers need to be very adept under the high ball now and be able to kick as well.
Hey Brenden. When do the Boks leave for Australia?
next week wednesday
How can we win at 7s when all the top 7s players leave for the 15 man game? Imagine a side with Werner, Ruhan, Stedman, Kolbe, Kurt-Lee, Kwagga and I'm sure there are more that I've left out.
Go look at the names in the sides that were winning tournaments and the whole series under Powell. Mostly the same players as there are now now. The problem there is not the plundering of a few players to 15s.
You can lose 2/3 pool games and still win gold?
As Rassie said they have this thing in place where players are eyed for the future and some investment goes in to it in some cases,is that a good thing? And will they be honest enough at the end and say u did not turnout as we thought you whould and take the loss on investment and back a nother player(they probably do just we dont know these things). And outside the ones he mentioned who are these players and how many of them make it to bok level? 2. For the 8 problem just make AE the 8 😂😂,or is it that specialized? And where is trokkie, why is he not in the mix for 8.
This by far the best rugby journalism i love it thanks Brandon...Yes is sad to see that these youngsters career came to an end in sports...They may excell in something else but not rugby... What i can say is that they must just take responsibility of there choices and try and better next time....I am from Namibia
Still in it? Delusion and Grade A bottom level coaching. This coach just wanted a free holiday to France, he don’t want to win.
If they had won would he have been a great black coach or just a great coach
It's like calling Rassie "the great white" 😂 Maybe Mzwandile Stick is "the great black"
He is a show pony. We need guys buying into the Bok plan. Plays for the TV. No place for you in the Bokke.
This is just a very very sad story. How did we get here with these youngsters?
The damage is already done by Phillips predecessor - some useless black coach. Too late now!
Philip has been part of the setup all along, and he's been in change for long enough now for us to see that he's useless. Maybe we try the previous coach without Philip there, and see who was really rubbish when they were doing the job together ... Also, seek help for your racism issues.
Springboks have no specialist 8 going Down Under? Dropping a 8 without replacing him with a specialist is a thing. Might be damaging for confidence. Might want to start with Elrigh Louw now. I hope it goes well otherwise our depth at 8 is not existing.
Jaunro Augustus!!!???
Kwaggai too small for being a SA nommer 8. Roos is not big enough either and would do well to focus as a open side flanker.
Awesome summation. Strong squad. No. 8 is definitely on everyone's mind. Kwagga is great but not a starter, more impact. Elrigh Louw is the logical choice (I would start him) and bring kwagga on second half.
Roos is very unfortunate not to be included in the Boks. He will soon be lost for the Boks.. Let him go to England and play under a different coach. Clash of personalities. Maybe Rassie cannot handle him
Roos is a selfish player. He wants to be a glory boy, that is the problem. The first try scored by the Portuguese was because he had white line fever, had the balled ripped out of his hands, and then the Portuguese scored their first try.
Duane V was a hell of a player. I'm English, but watch his performance in the 2019 World Cup Final. He was immense, and could not be moved in the rucks. He did it all. I thought he was player of the match by a long way, although Kolbe got all the plaudits.
What are Flannerys defence credentials?
Brendon what about Juanro Augustus? Seems like a great option.
mentioning djantji in this was quite unnecessary.. grow up man is trying to rebuild his career
Ruan Venter convert to a classical 8 in Duane mold
Dis baie sad baie goei speelers 😢😢😢😢😢
Hanekom will be there shortly 🎉
You knew Roos was out of favour when he wasn't considered for Ireland. Been given more than his fair share of chances. Obviously a real talent running with the ball, but just seems to be playing for his own glory and is so far from being the complete package. Suspect this is the last time we will see him in Springbok colours.
He’s the full Package. We don’t know. He mightve been asked to do the basics. Not the fancy stuff they know he can do. He needs to do the Duane Vermuelen stuff in the first 40. The hard tight brutal grind. He will be wearing the 8 next RWC. Kwagga must not start. He’s an impact player. And Brilliant at that.
Why is Cobus Reinach in the squad, his already 34,definitely won't make the World Cup. Boks must start throwing in the young guys in the big games. All Blacks are doing it
Andre Esterhuizen shouldn't have gotten a red card, yellow at most. Pitty his now suspended, I really rate him very high, solid player 🙌
Embrose Papier also had a great season for the Bulls, you think he should have gotten a chance
Why, in press conferences, can they not repeat the questions from journalists, as they cannot be heard.
Hanekom is ons langtermyn oplossing
For Bulls perhaps.
Do you like kaffir boy bussy?
Any other country would welcome Roos with open arms in their starting 15, we need to back him, he is a very special talent.
Agreed but not every country has a Hanekom or Louw coming through
I am a Hanekom fan for 8..
@@DirkJacobsz too small, we already tried Kwagga
@@Wolf-hh4rvHanekom is too small?....1.93m ,110 kg just turned 22 is too small?
@@Wolf-hh4rv Hanekom is taller, and heavier, than Evan Roos.
Roos needs to mature.... the other guys are more mature than him.
He is trying too hard. He will come thru...
Problem is they want an exact copy of Dwayne instead of incorporating other styles of 8th man play.Roos for instance would be perfect playing out wide where PSDT and Kolisi were put.Elrich Louw would be a blind side type of no.8, powerful ball carrier without explosiveness. The BEST option would be to put PSDT at no 8.
Roos just needs to relax and play with his head. A bit too eager. Power is nothing without control. Not accurate enough .. yet..
Do you think there was any substance behind the rumours of Cameron Hanekom being approached by Wales as I believe he has Welsh grandparent/s?? Would be a horrible loss and he could probably walk into a starting position in their team right away.
Gatland said he was approached, but he declined because he wants to play for the Boks.
Both Jake and Rassie poured cold water over that.. it's not a case of if but rather when Cameron will get capped
Why on earth would he want to play for Wales? He is going to play for the Springboks, if not for his injury he would have been capped already.
@Alias-gy3tz I understand what you're saying but other young, highly talented players havw left because they didn't get an immediate called up. Look at Duhan VDM for example, choosing to play for Scotland because he wasn't immediately called up and there was some competition in his position.
Put Elrigh at 7 and BJD at 8
PTSD 7 ? , BJD @ 8 ,Elrigh off the bench.
Great video. Thanks Brenden
He'll get there. Just clearly not ready at the minute. I'd prefer an 8 in the mould of Duane over a Pierre Spies or Kankowski. Roos needs to stay on his feet a tad longer when making the contact. Yes, he makes great breaks, but they're useless if you make a 30m break and give away a penalty then have to retreat 50m. It's an indictment on the 8 role if Kwagga is still getting chosen over Roos with Hanekom and Wiese missing. Let's see. Roos has heaps to offer, but heaps to still learn.
We need a big unit at 8. Kwagga has shown us. Venter?
Yep, Venter is a good candidate
